WE ARE WORKING ALMOST NORMALLY, SUBJECT TO LONGER LEAD TIMES FOR SOME PRODUCTS, DUE TO REDUCED STAFF NUMBERS.

Fabric Covers made to your specification.

In addition to our consumer facing product lines, we have the capacity and capability to manufacture custom-made items working as a sewing sub-contractor. We will manufacture to your already existing designs, or assist in the new-design process based on your requirements.

We offer a wide range of industrial and commercial sewing services, answering your needs for regular sewing contracts, or simply occasional sewing work. Our team of machinists combine a range of experience in sewing different textiles, and other materials; creating a wide variety of shapes and sizes fulfilling a huge number of purposes. We can also weld plastic material.

The exact purpose of equipment covers (sometimes referred to as portable covers) relates to what you want to protect and from what ingress. Water, grit, grease, dust, oil, aggressive fluids, chemicals and so on; and how these might be directed at the equipment, products etc.

And the environment in which they will be used will have an important bearing on the choice of materials to achieve the level of protection you need.

The case studies below illustrate these points.

Of course you can buy any of our finished products, which you can find elsewhere on our website, at appropriately discounted business to business prices. Or even just the materials, specifically shown at BUY-OUR-FABRIC , for your own manufacture, along with any consumables you might need.

In manufacturing industries, we find that our customers make use of protective covers for one, two, three or even all the four purposes outlined below; and, if you are covering the finished product, the cover would normally be provided to the customer for their in-service use.

Before Production

For protection of sensitive raw materials, components and sub-assemblies.

Case Study One

In which a roll cage was used for moving medical equipment on arrival at the customer's premises.

During Production

In an environment not necessarily kind to everything you are making.

Case Study Two

In this example protecting a jet engine, whilst undergoing refurbishment, from airborne particles.

After Production

Whilst in temporary storage (perhaps outside) awaiting despatch to your customer.

Case Study Three

Shows the covers protecting large acrylic panels stored externally in stillages, awaiting transport.

During Delivery

The commonest reason being to prevent damage during transport, although many other reasons are cited by customers.

Case Study Four

Shows a padded zipped bag, actually containing the rear half of a racing car body.

Furthermore

Equipment, apparatus, machinery, appliances etc often need protection in their working environment.

Case Study Five

Shows a robot arm which was suffering damage from splatter.

Many of these requirements are quite simple and straightforward to make a cover for, so the benefits far outweigh the relatively low cost. No more expensive labour-intensive re-working, fettling, repairing, cleaning etc.

And don't forget that covering products prevents prying eyes (competitors, media and so on) from seeing, even just glimpsing, your products.

Repairs and alterations

Have you got any textile or fabric articles/covers/items etc that are a bit the worse for wear, yet not so bad they need replacing ?

A small tear or two; a burn hole or two; broken zip; worn out velcro; just one side that's taken more of a bashing than the rest of it; the list of possible wear and damage is almost endless.

We can put all those right for you; well probably anyway, there are limits !

On the other hand, maybe you want something still in good condition to be altered, you can't use it anymore at all (too good to throw away), or it no longer fits properly, because the original purpose has gone. We can deal with that too by altering it for you.

Please give us a ring or send an email (please see contact us); alternatively use our enquiry form below to send your contact info in the boxes at the bottom of the form (use the other boxes as you want, or you can leave them blank, we don't believe in making anything like this compulsory).

Lead Times

Lead times will vary depending on how much work we have in hand (our “order book”) at the time you place your order; and how long your order will take to complete. Pretty obvious, and only predictable at the time !

As a general guide this could be anywhere between 2 and 8 weeks. We operate a very strict “first come, first served” scheduling system; nobody likes queue jumping.

However, we have devised a “Fast-track” procedure if you are unable to wait the quoted lead time; and it does not involve queue jumping. Quite simply, we will open our factory outside normal working hours in order to complete your order urgently. Of course, there is always a down-side; Fast-track will cost you more !

So in summary

  • We can make covers for just about any kind of machinery, sculpture, equipment etc. 1 off to 1000 off
  • Our own materials or specially sourced, with or without labels and logos.
  • Price and lead time will depend on size, quantity and material. Please ask.
  • And we can give a new lease of life to any fabric item.

PLEASE FILL IN OUR QUOTE FORM AND WE WILL SEND YOU A QUOTATION.
